It’s that most wonderful time of the year again, my friends! The time when we are enthused about buying the perfect gift for everyone on our list. The time when we realize that we most definitely need some good inspiration.
Thank goodness for all the holiday gift guides on the world wide web! I love to browse through gift guides, I have gotten a lot of great ideas from them, and this year I decided to give back in the area that I’m comfortable with – all things COFFEE!
All of the items on this list are either things that I have used and love, or are on my own wish list!
- Stagg Electric Kettle $149.00 This is the kettle of my dreams! It comes in so many gorgeous colors, I had a tough time deciding between the matte white and the polished copper. The feature I would love on this kettle is the one-hour hold mode. Preheat, and hold at the perfect temperature. Pour-overs perfected.
2. San Joaquin Coffee Mug $15.00 This 16-ounce coffee mug is a beauty! Printed in southern California, it features our poppy flower and logo. Black or yellow color options.
3. Bodum Electric Kettle $29.99 A 27 ounce gooseneck electric kettle. I have had this one for about 6 months now and I love it! I love the cork handle and lid. It makes it looks more high end than the bargain it is. It heats water quickly, and is the perfect size for my 6-cup Chemex Pour-Over. Please note, it’s a bit smaller than my last one, and doesn’t heat quite enough water for my large 12-cup French Press. If you make large amounts of coffee you may want to consider the larger Bodum option. Its just not as pretty, IMO.
4. Hario V60 Coffee Scale $53.50 A scale will be the perfect gift for the person who is looking to up their coffee brewing game. For a serious coffee connoisseur, a scale is a must. This one is a winner, since it is a timer and a scale in one. The only downside to this one is that it only measures in grams.+
5. Chemex Pour-Over Coffee Maker $43.50 This six-cup glass-handled pour-over coffee maker is a beauty. Classic, simple, clean lines. Pair it with a metal mesh filter for the perfect gift for the coffee aficionado. The lucky recipient of this gift will soon have a lot of gorgeous pour-over pics on their Instagram feed! Realistically this makes about 2 large cups of coffee, maybe three smaller ones. For a few more dollars, you can get the eight-cup, but I love this one for its balance in design.
6. Apace Living Pour Over Coffee Filter $17.99 I have used my titanium gold metal mesh filter for a few months now, and its a dream! I love the fact that I’m not throwing a paper filter out, and I also love it that I don’t have to pre-wet the filter with this metal option. Good for the coffee, good for the earth. Perfect for the crunchy mama on your list! Pair it with the Chemex pour-over for the ultimate gift.
7. Baratza Encore Grinder $139.00 If you want to tell someone they are really special, this grinder says it all! The Barazta Encore burr grinder is the one we have used for several years now, and I have recommended it to my mom, sisters and friends. It’s that good. I love that it’s made in the USA, and is designed so it can be repaired if something happens to give out! Very refreshing in this age of disposable appliances. It now comes in both black and white. I personally love the white option.
8. San Joaquin Coffee Co. Gift Set -$35.00 Two 12-ounce bags of freshly roasted coffee are a gift that is sure to please the coffee lover on your gift list! It’s also the perfect gift to have on hand for the last-minute gift you know you are going to need! The packaging on this gift set takes freshly roasted coffee to a new level. No need to wrap, just hand it over.
9. Rancilio Silva Espresso Machine $$685 (with coupon code HOLIDAY50) This sturdy, compact, reliable machine is the one we’ve been using for our home espresso machine for years now. It’s built with the same care as Rancilio’s commercial lineup of machines, which was the selling point for us. It’s a basic, manual machine that consistently brews great espresso. I have a friend who has a fully automated machine that costs several thousand dollars, and he told me his next machine is going to be the Rancilio Silva, because he wants more control over the brewing process. With this machine, you can change the grind size, tamp it to the level you need, pull a short or long shot. The variables are as endless as your imagination with a manual machine like this one. Perfect gift for the person who likes to customize their espresso! Or, buy yourself the best gift ever this Christmas, you deserve it! Hello, 2020!
